Brad Winderbaum talks future of Marvel Specials after Punisher return

The Emmy Award winner recently sat down for a chat and gave fans a peek at the future of specials in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After the critical acclaim that The Punisher: One Last Kill received, Brad Winderbaum was asked by ScreenRant’s Liam Crowley whether there are characters on whose specials they are working. He stated that there is always an opportunity to create a special, which is good news for fans.

However, Winderbaum didn’t provide any confirmation about which special presentations fans could expect to arrive soon. He said, “Special Presentations are always fun… I just love that. That’s an opportunity. [If] someone can have a crazy idea and we can develop it as a special presentation, [it] is [a] huge opportunity for us.”

Currently, Marvel Studios’ main focus is the upcoming movies Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday, and Avengers: Secret Wars. The MCU is now close to the end of the Multiversal saga, which will wrap in December 2027. After this, fans will witness the entry of mutants into the MCU.

The special presentations that Marvel Studios has released so far are Werewolf by Night, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, and The Punisher: One Last Kill. All three have been well received by critics and earned good scores on Rotten Tomatoes.

Werewolf by Night stands at 90 percent on the Tomatometer. Meanwhile, The Guardians of the Galaxy special is at 95 percent. Furthermore, the most recent Punisher special currently has a 74 percent score on RT.
