Less than two months before the start of the America’s Cup, the AC75 simulator at the official America’s Cup Experience exhibition in Barcelona will delight speed enthusiasts. With just a virtual reality headset, the general public will be able to feel the adrenaline and excitement experienced by the crew members of the most advanced sailing boats in the world.

The AC75 simulator, suitable for ages 10 and up or a minimum height of 1.40m, is located in the renovated facilities of the former IMAX and immerses visitors in the history and cutting-edge technology behind the prestigious America’s Cup sailing race. With the backdrop of the city of Barcelona, the experience promises thrilling speeds, resembling those of the crew members of the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup.

Barcelona is the first city to host an initiative of this kind in the 173-year history of the regatta

Visitors will navigate virtually through a structure that simulates the ship, with a capacity of 10 people each. Along with virtual reality (VR) glasses and motion systems, they will embark on a journey that recreates the sensations on board these impressive sailboats, experiencing in 360 degrees what the pilots see during the regatta.

Along with the sensory experience of the AC75 simulator, thrill-seekers and speed enthusiasts will be able to experience the sporting event first-hand. They will also discover the revolutionary innovations that have transformed competitive sailing and learn firsthand the stories behind the teams and legendary sailors who have made their mark on the America’s Cup over the years.

The attraction – part of the integral experience of the America’s Cup – is open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is suitable for adults and children over 10 years old or a minimum height of 1.40 meters.

The AC75 (America’s Cup 75 feet) is a cutting-edge racing boat designed for the 36th and 37th editions of the America’s Cup. With 75 feet – 23 meters in length – these monohulls are equipped with foils (hydrofoils) mounted under the hull. Known as the F1 of the sea, they feature a redesigned mainsail rig, new hydraulic systems, and lack a keel.
