Nothing is launching the Phone (2a) Plus on July 31, and you may have been wondering what that “Plus” suffix stands for. Today we get our first piece of the puzzle, since the brand has started its usual style of teaser campaign, drip-feeding us information before the announcement.

The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7350 Pro chipset, which clocks up to 3 GHz. This, Nothing promises, will make the Plus 10% faster overall than the Phone (2a).

Nothing Phone (2a) Plus uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7350 Pro SoC

Furthermore, the GPU is clocked 30% higher in this SoC compared to the Phone (2a)’s Dimensity 7200 Pro, so it will be “speedier at tearing through complex graphics and number crunching”.

Nothing also claims the Dimensity 7350 Pro is “a world exclusive”, but as always that’s misleading – the Dimensity 7350 will surely be seen in other devices, it’s just the “Pro” version that’s exclusive to Nothing and supposedly customized in partnership with Nothing. It was the same story with the Dimensity 7200 Pro in the Phone (2a), but there weren’t any details as to what those supposed customizations actually are.

Anyway, the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus will also have 12GB of RAM and will support 8GB RAM Boost by using spare storage space.

Stay tuned as Nothing will undoubtedly release more details about its upcoming device in the next few days.
